Actress Vishakha Singh, who will be seen in Vikram Bhatt's "Ankur Arora Murder Case", says chat show "Satyamev Jayate" tempted her to take on the medical drama.

The actress feels nowadays focus is more on earning comfort than saving patients.

"Last year, when I was watching 'Satyamev Jayate' and how Indian Medical Association opposed Aamir Khan, I felt sad. Even though being a doctor is a noble profession, there are doctors who forget that there is a living being right in front of you and you have to take greater responsibility, " Vishakha told.

Produced by Vikram Bhatt, the film revolves around a child who dies on the operation table due to medical negligence.

The actress accepted director Sohail Tattari's film as she found the story simple yet impactful.

"When Vikram brought the film to me, I was confused as he is known for his horror films. I liked the fact that it's a simple, non-complicated, and competent film. That is what attracted me, " said the actress who will be seen with actors like Tisca Chopra and Kay Kay Menon in the film.

"If it was any other role, like a lawyer and RJ, one still knows. The entire language here was different. For me, my best friend is a doctor and have five uncles who are doctors and I also watched a lot of 'Grey's Anatomy', which helped. Also, we had a doctor on the sets, which helped too, " she said.

Other then her Hindi projects like "Hum Se Jahan" and "Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey", Vishakha has also been a part of southern projects like "Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya", which was a huge hit.

She says that offers for southern films came her ways when she was free so she thought that it was better to work.

"I was happy about it, so I continued. The focus is on Hindi, but since my southern film was a hit, it is my responsibility to do more. Now I am trying to balance it out, " she said.

The actress seems to have a busy 2013 with "Fukrey" and "Bhajathe Raho" releasing this year. She will also be making her debut Malayalam cinema with "Motor Cycle Diaries".

"It is very difficult to balance all the things. Eventually, I'd want to do just two films a year. But because I am starting out, there is a pressure of doing as much work as possible.

"If I had my way, I would do a 'Kill Bill' or a Basanti from 'Sholay'. I want nice meaty roles where you can't replace me with anyone else. But you can't have what you want. I am trying to pick the best from what I am getting, " she said.
