He was furious at the media and said that it was owing to the false rumours that the fourth estate circulated that he had to spend two weeks in police custody.
Vindu Dara Singh was furious at the media and said that it was owing to the false rumours that the fourth estate circulated that he had to spend two weeks in police custody.
`The very first day, I told the police everything I knew. I have never lied. I cooperated with the police. I don't know why I was in police custody,` he said. Frustrated with the questions fired at him by the media, Vindu said that he did not know MS Dhoni or Sakshi personally.
`I have never spoken to Dhoni or Sakshi, his wife. We only said 'Hello' whenever we met. That's all,` said Vindu.
Commenting on the proximity to Sakshi during an IPL match, Vindu said, `I was sitting in the third row watching the match. Sakshi was in the first row and invited me to come and sit ahead. That's all. Sitting next to Sakshi was my biggest mistake. I really feel sorry for her.`
Vindu added that Gurunath Meiyappan was a good friend, and that the latter too was innocent and not involved in any sort of spot-fixing. The actor also added that Sanjay and Pawan, alleged bookies from Jaipur, were also his friends.
`They are jewellers from Jaipur and are friends of mine,` he said. `Never have we spoken about any match-fixing,` added Vindu. He added that he was friendly with Pakistan Umpire Asad Rauf as well. `My family has suffered a lot. They supported me a lot,` he said.
