It was a close friend's birthday party that brought Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra together in one room

According to sources the two, who were allegedly dating each other some time back, were attending Mubina Rattonsey's birthday on Friday night at her Bandra pad.

The get-together apparently went on till the wee hours of the morning and a close friend of PC confirmed her presence at Mubina's house.

A friend of Mubina (the daughter-in-law of producer Farouq Rattonsey) says, `It was her birthday and since Priyanka is very close to her, she went to wish her at her home.`


However, apparently once Shahid and PC realised that shutterbugs had got a whiff of their presence in the building, a cat and mouse game ensued.

An onlooker says, `Their cars maneuvered their way in and out of the building. Shahid left first around 3.30 am. Priyanka's car that had left the building a while ago returned shortly to pick up the actress, as she went out through another exit.`

Both Sasha and PC remained unavailable for comment.
