The decision was passed following a meeting with the Censor Board and the Revision Committee.
Slated to release on July 19, 'D-Day' is a espionage thriller about four RAW officials - Wali Khan (Irrfan), Rudra Pratap Singh (Arjun Rampal), Zoya Rehman (Huma Qureshi) and Aslam (Akash Dahiya), who are sent in to Pakistan by the Indian Government to capture India's most wanted terrorist (Rishi Kapoor).
Director Nikhil Advani is very pleased with the Censor Board's decision.
`The Censor Board suggested minor cuts that do not disturb the sanctity of the film. The cuts primarily tone down certain violent portions of the film keeping in mind younger audiences.
That was something that the Censor Board was particularly keen on and given that we specifically want to take this movie to the younger generation we were more than happy to accommodate the cuts. Overall, I'm very happy with the Censor Board's decision.` said Advani
