Chunkey Pandey is on cloud nine post the release of 'D'. He's been getting congratulatory calls for his performance in the movie.

But, it seems, the biggest compliment he received was from veteran lyricist Javed Akhtar, who has penned the superhit song 'So gaya ye jahan' featuring Chunkey, from the movie "Tezaab".

Chunkey was lazing around one Saturday morning, when the phone rang.

"At first I refused to believe it, but it was indeed Javed saab (sir)! 'Beta (son), I have no words to describe your excellent performance. It is one of the most flawless performances I have seen in recent times,' he said. After that Shabana-ji came on the line and told me that she was deeply touched by my death scene in the film. I was speechless. It was like winning an Oscar," said a dazed Chunkey.

Meanwhile, Ram Gopal Varma has signed him for his next film, "Darwaza Bandh".
