Ever since Honey Singh had claimed that Shah Rukh Khan had approached him for a song in his upcoming film, he was involved in a verbal battle with Vishal Dadlani (of the Vishal-Shekhar duo) who has scored the film's music. Vishal had felt the rapper was merely seeking publicity using King Khan's name.
However buzz is that Honey is indeed recording a track for King Khan's film with Deepika Padukone.
Says a source, `Honey's encounter with Shah Rukh has borne fruit. He will soon be recording a lungi dance track for the Eid release. Honey has written, sung and composed the track. It is a fun, peppy number.`
Adds the source, `As Shah Rukh is also the producer, Honey was in touch with his office directly. How the track will be used - whether in the film, end credits or for the promos will be decided by SRK.`
As reported 'A battle of egos?' (Hitlist, July 1), Vishal had stated on his micro-blogging site, `It's hilarious and pathetic, how desperately this tacky rape-rapper is trying to ride on the fame of @iamsrk and #ChennaiExpress. Poor guy.`
After hearing about Honey's claims, Vishal had checked with director Rohit Shetty who allegedly told him there was no plan to have Honey render a song in the film. Hearing this, Vishal took to his social media site to vent his ire.
