Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha says his debut production venture `Gulab Gang` is not based on any real-life character.

It has been reported that the film, directed by Soumik Sen, is loosely based on Uttar Pradesh-based social activist Sampat Pal and her Gulabi Gang, which works towards liberation of women in the state.

However, Sinha cleared the air through his tweet and wrote: `Also, for the record, 'Gulaab Gang' is fiction. Not based on anyone's life, loosely or tightly. So please.`

The film will witness the comeback of dancing diva Madhuri Dixit on the silver screen after her 2007 released film `Aaja Nachle`. The film also features Juhi Chawla, Mahie Gill and Tannishtha Chatterjee in key roles.
