Why? Because the title suggests it is a lurid film, the charge, which Bhatt vehemently denies.
"It's not a sex film, rather the film is about war against pornography," he argues.
Keeping in view the change in regulation about screening of film, there have been several suggestions for the title like Neela Zeher, but unit members feel it will sound like a sequel to Zeher, which isn't the case.
In order to clear the air, Bhatt is even mulling over changing the title of the film to ‘Blue Film - A War Against Pornography'.
"I don't want the audience to start expecting sex in the film like it happened in the case of Paap. It will not promote sex," he adds further.
Meanwhile Deepal Shaw, who has been signed by the Bhatts to play the second lead in the film is having a tough time denying reports that she is no longer playing the lead role in Mohit Suri's ‘Blue Film'.
The reports, according to Shaw, started surfacing after Suri's sister Smiley was signed for the film. Shaw claimed certain vested interests were spreading rumours that she is no longer the main lead.
Apparently, Shaw got an assurance from producer Mahesh Bhatt that her role had not been scaled down.
"I am very much playing the central character - that of a victim of human trafficking - and I am looking forward to the film," she says.
