Yet, the goddess for millions of sex starved Indians continues to lose ground back home.
Box office reports for 'Bach Ke Rehna Re Baba' has been extremely dismal and people have already started paying their obituaries to phenomenon called Mallika that once rose and shone like the brightest star in skies of Indian tinsletown.
According to them, Mallika has no career, no charm, and no sex appeal. None of the heroes knows her or wants to know her. And now, even Bhatts have disowned their whiz kid by kicking her out of Vishesh Film's 'Gangster', affirming the doomsayers' worst fears.
The latest reports claim that Mallika has been shown the door over the exorbitant price (Rs 1 crore) she asked for doing the film.
Says furious Mukesh Bhatt, "She asked for an amount that I wouldn't give for six films. I will never approach her for any other Vishesh Films project. "If she realises her mistake and comes me, I might consider her, but she won't do 'Gangster', that's for sure. I made her who she is, and if this is how she behaves with me then I am terribly pissed off. It's her loss, not mine"
Gangster is inspired by the Abu Salem-Monica Bedi love story to be directed by Anurag Basu, who also directed Mallika in 'Murder'. According to him, Cannes trip has gone into Sherawat's head and she has become too big for her shoes.
