Shuja Ali will direct the film.
"I want to make a complete food-based film and I have approached Sanjeev Kapoor. Sanjeev really liked the script and he is in love with it. He said he never thought a director would approach him for a film. I am very much excited about the film," Ali told IANS.
The director is currently busy promoting his debut film "Baat Bann Gayi", slated for Friday release.
Shuja says "Master Chef" will be the first film based on food.
He said: "The film itself is titled 'Master Chef' and who better than Sanjeev can be part of the film. He is a very knowledgeable person.
"Once he signs the film, we may start rolling. We have not really explored this genre before, so food drama will be a new genre in itself."
