Political pressure has delayed the release of Dirty Politics which is based on the real life story of a nurse, Bhanwari Devi, who was killed by a minister of the Rajasthan government last year. Congress is in power in the state which goes to polls later this month.
KC Bokadia had to shelve the release of the film which was supposed to be released last week as it had not found many exhibitors.
As the film is supposed to be inspired by the mysterious killing of the 36-year-old auxiliary nurse and midwife, Bhanwari, in a village near Jodhpur, the film's release has landed the makers in trouble. Also, due to continuous pressure by the politicians of the state, director KC Bokadia has delayed the release. The film which was supposed to be released before the state assembly elections in November will now hit the screens in January.
Reportedly, the case rocked the entire country when it came to limelight, leading to the jailed of congress minister Mahipal Madernaand MLA Malkhan Singh pending trial. Confesses the director of the film KC Bokadia, "It's true that I have postponed the release of the film due to political pressures from various corners. I have no intentions of maligning anybody's image with the film, nor have any other hidden agenda. I am just a creative person and want my film to entertain the public without getting into any controversy.
As far as my political connections are concerned, I have friends in politics and don't want to disappoint anybody with the film. So it's better to delay the release. Now we will release it after the elections, sometime in January."
