I want to do a romantic comedy: Kay Kay Menon

Kay Kay Menon, who is known for his rather intense roles, will be next seen in a mystery thriller. In an interview with CS, the actor talks about acting, dancing and upcoming projects

First thriller of the year
I am very excited about my next film by writer-director Manish Gupta. This film is based on a sensational murder case and has been woven well like a classic Agatha Christie novel.

Dabbling with television
When I was roped in by Anurag Kashyap for the television series, I was elated. My association with Anurag goes back since the last 15 years and it's good to be working with him again. I did a film with him earlier which didn't see the light of the day. But, now being a part of his television series is something I am really looking forward to. The project is special because I will also be working alongside Amitabh Bachchan and NawazuddinSiddiqui.

Two left feet
Thankfully, for choreographer Remo D'souza's sequel to his latest hit, I did not have to practice any dance steps. I am not comfortable with dancing (laughs).

Light, frothy roles
I am looking forward to doing a romantic comedy, I enjoyed being a part of Bheja Fry thoroughly. I have just finished shooting for Anurag's film and am busy with Vishal Bharadwaj's next.

No competition
I have no contenders as such. But I respect Naseer bhai and Irrfan. I think they are a class apart as actors. I have no favourites when it comes to filmmakers too, though Anurag Kashyap and I share a special rapport.

Leisure time
I am a lawn tennis addict. I play it regularly and just cannot do without a match. I also workout and like spending quality time with my wife Nivedita. I am not into socialising because I believe in focusing on my work which in my case is acting.
