It is not often that Sonu Nigam agrees to perform live at a concert outside India, with show organizers branding him as the most expensive singer in the industry.

However, the otherwise choosy singer has agreed to do a live concert in Kabul July 20.

"I have been looking forward to performing there for a long time because of the tremendous fan following I have there. In fact, every time I have a successful number to my credit, there are calls from Afghanistan complimenting me. Besides, it is the first time any Indian artiste is performing there," said Sonu.

People from the music fraternity and his friends have cautioned Sonu against going to Kabul, considering the volatility of the situation in Afghanistan, but Sonu is confident nothing can go wrong.

"People find it difficult to digest that I am performing in Kabul in these difficult times, but I am all excited about it. In fact, the place is all geared up for the concert and 10,000 tickets have already been sold," he said.
