Writer Javed Akhtar has been discharged from hospital and has been avised to remain in Delhi for further treatment.

Javed Akhtar was recently admitted to the spinal hospital in Delhi due to a severe back problem. His wife Shabana Azmi had rushed to Delhi and cancelled all the programmes she had committed to in India and overseas to nurse him while in hospital.

As luck would have it, he was discharged on his 29th wedding anniversary on December 9, but, of course, has been advised to remain in Delhi for a few days until his back completely recovers.
