Indian entertainers and film stars have been frequently invited to visit Pakistan, but many are not sure they want to take the risk.
Many Indian artists have had some less than favourable experiences in Pakistan.
Singer-actor Sonu Nigam had a narrow escape when bombs exploded inches away from his speeding car in Karachi, where he had gone to perform last year.
Now it is actor Saif Ali Khan's turn, who could not make it to a show due to security fears.
Recounting his experience, Saif said: "Yes, I was in Pakistan recently. I had been paid to appear on stage, but couldn't. There were security problems. I was advised by the
organizer not to go on. I finally came away after a press conference..."
But the perky hero did not take it as a total loss. "On the brighter side, I did get to meet some of my cousins down there."
Take Lata Mangeshkar, who has repeatedly been requested to visit Pakistan.
India's nightingale appears doubtful about doing something that appears inherently unsafe. "I know the people of Pakistan love me. In concerts abroad I get as much warm
vibes from them as I do from Indians. But I am not too sure whether I can visit Pakistan."
