Dharmesh Tiwari, president, FWICE, says, `We are going to invite Mr Bachchan for the inauguration of our three-day convention that starts on January 21.
He is abroad and is likely to return on January 2. We are hoping that he attends our event which is held for the benefit of our film workers from all the 22 crafts.`
A source said, `If Mr Bachchan can attend Raj Thackeray event that was meant for the benefit of MNS cine wing workers, we can certainly hope that he makes his presence felt at our event too. Normally our member need to seek permission from the union before they attend any rival organisation's event, but since he went there only the sake of the workers, nobody really got upset with him.`
Film and television producers have been invited for the confederation and FWICE's general secretary Rashid Mehta, is keen on raising issues. He says, `Working hours is an issue there are some production houses which shoot non-stop for 20 hours which is unfair to our workers. We want to regulate the work timings.`
