Women's safety has become a major concern in India. In order to create awareness about the same, Kareena Kapoor recently launched VithU -- an online application (app) for women's safety. This decision has earned the actress brownie points from mother-in-law Sharmila Tagore as the latter praised her for lending support to such a cause.
The veteran actress is believed to have said that in today's day and age, safety of women is of paramount importance.
The app helps a woman in danger connect with her family instantly. Kareena reportedly has been raving about it to her female friends and has been urging them to utilise it as she feels that the city is unsafe for women, especially in light of the recent spate of crimes against women.
`The actress also added that apart from her mum-in-law, hubby Saif Ali Khan too is proud of her and has expressed interest in being part of this campaign,` says a source close to her.
Bebo reiterated, `In current times, the issue of women's safety really concerns me. By supporting the initiative, I am trying to highlight the importance of women's safety.`
