At the press meet for the music release, Revathy confessed that it was a great learning experience to work with Amitabh. Set in Mauritius, the film is a contemporary story about love and relationships.
"I play the role of Sandhya, Jai's (Karan Sharma) mother and Shekhar's (Amitabh Bachchan) wife, in the film. My character is that of a typical Indian mother who is constantly worried about his son. She doesn't want him to marry a foreigner. Though her husband is alright with the idea, she is against it," explains Revathy. However, she does not subscribe to such ideologies in real life and didn't identify with the character. "It was the biggest challenge to do a role which you do not believe in," she asserts.
After her last directorial venture Phir Milenge, which earned her a lot of fame as a director, Revathy is now gearing up to launch a bilingual film. It will be in Tamil and Hindi and will deal with a sensitive and emotional subject. Revathy is planning to launch the film by the end of the year. The film will have a mixture of artists from the South and Bollywood.
Though she had done cameo in Phir Milenge, she is particular about not acting in her next film. "The high that I get as a director is quite different from what I get as an actor," says she.
Revathy, who is not doing even a single Hindi film at present, is playing a mother's role in Tamil film, Ponniyin Selvan.
Romesh Sharma's son Karan Sharma will debut with Dil Jo Bhi Kahey. British actor Annabelle Wallis will also be seen in the movie.
