A few months ago, Ahmed had announced plans to make the film on an ambitious scale. He also had a detailed meeting with veteran filmmaker Muzaffar Ali after which he had confirmed Meera's dates for the film on a priority basis.
There was no news of the project after that. It later came to light that Ahmed had abandoned the idea of going ahead with the film.
The decision was reportedly a fall-out of the poor showing of Meera's debut film "Nazar" at the box-office and her decision to re-locate to Dubai in the wake of her problems with the Pakistani film industry.
However, Ahmed denies he has dropped the film.
"I haven't given up the idea of doing the film nor do I have any second thoughts about it. If anything, I am planning to make it on a much more moderate scale than I was planning earlier," he said.
