Ekta Kapoor is one miffed woman. The film and TV show producer has been facing flak for allegedly depicting untrue facts in her show, 'Jodha Akbar', and it seems that she has had enough.
A source says, `This group called Sri Rajput Karni Sena has been constantly protesting against her show. Last month, this group interrupted Ekta's speech and to add to it, a few days ago, it tried to block traffic on the Ambala -Hisar state highway. Last week, a group of people from Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha dropped in at Ekta's office and shouted slogans against her. They even threatened to create a ruckus if the show's telecast was not stopped immediately. So Ekta has now decided to disassociate herself from the project.`
Ekta confirmed the news. `We are still in talks with channel, but we have officially taken our names off from the show,` she said. A source from the channel says, `It is too early for the creative team to take a call. However, since the show is doing well, we will continue its telecast albeit with a new production house. The channel officials will soon take a call about the same.`
Recent protests against the show
In a bid to get Ekta to change the show's name and storyline, the Sri Rajput Karni Sena had earlier tried to stop the screening of Ekta's film, 'Once Upon Ay Time In Mumbai Dobaara'. Back then, Ekta agreed to change Jodha Akbar's story and turn it into a work of fiction, but the title remained unchanged. Last month, when Ekta was at the Jaipur Literature festival, this group barged in to stop her session midway. However, security controlled the situation and made the protesters leave the venue.
