According to Kukunoor, known to share a fantastic rapport with Ghai, his next film will be produced by Search Light - the banner recently set up by Mukta Arts.
Kukunoor says: "I am hoping to take this relationship way ahead into the future. It's after a long time that I have found a group of people who have a very high level of mutual respect and belief for one another, including the freedom to take creative decisions."
Kukunoor says Ghai has yet to make up his mind about the subject of the film. "That's because there are four-five scripts that I am always considering at any given point of time," Kukunoor says.
The buzz is that Kukunoor has already got the go-ahead for his next project "90 Days" from Ghai, but he denies it.
"That's not entirely true. In fact, '90 Days' was the subject I first discussed with Ghai and Rahul Puri, the vice president of Mukta Arts. Then I casually mentioned 'Iqbal' and the whole attention shifted to the latter film, but the subject of '90 Days' is equally close to my heart."
"90 Days" is the story of a man who wins a huge sum of money and finds out on the same day that he has got cancer and has only 90 days to live.
Kukunoor admits to being "totally overwhelmed" with the acclaim "Iqbal" received at the Fame Adlabs premiere.
"It was a feeling that I experienced after a long time and I owe it as much to Ghai, who worked overtime for the last one month, ensuring that the film reaches out to the target audiences," he said.
