Producer-director Suneel Darshan is happy "Barsaat" has done well in many northern states though it met with a lukewarm response in major Mumbai multiplexes.

According to him, the film has done well in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Punjab and Rajasthan.

"The film caters to the emotions of the common man and it has successfully struck a chord with the audiences in these areas. In fact, all my three artistes, Bobby Deol, Priyanka Chopra and Bipasha Basu, consider it a major success for their careers, with their past films not having got the expected response," he says.

Darshan is also thrilled with the overseas response to the film, especially in Britain where it has grossed more than 250,000 pounds in its first five-day run.

"It is equivalent to the entire collections of 'Dhoom' and 'Kaal'," he says.
