Counsel for the two gave this assurance to Delhi High Court judge Mukul Mudgal in his chamber.
Mudgal then announced in open court: "Both parties are agreed to discuss the issues arising between them. The matter is adjourned to Sep 15 to enable them to further talk and, thereafter, report the result to the court."
Earlier, Kapur's counsel urged the proceedings be conducted in camera, but the court rejected this, saying it would do so only when both parties agreed to settle their disputes honourably and once for all.
Appearing for Kapur, former attorney general Ashok H. Desai said his client was ready for an amicable settlement.
Karisma's counsel said she too was ready for this.
The two counsel then talked to each other in the court room and after few minutes, agreed to discuss the issue in the judge's chamber. This they did for half-an-hour.
Wearing a blue shirt and green trousers, Kapur was present in the courtroom throughout the proceedings.
