When asked why the "Ramji Londonwale" dressing style was not a caricature of a typical Bollywood village bumpkin in dhoti kurta, Sanjay Dayma, the director, said: "As a director, I look for drama in reality and did not want Ramji as a caricature but as a character.

"And Ramji with his rural charm, earthy wisdom and golden heart as a character is real. You will find Ramji everywhere, in the towns, in cities. He is cool in his own ways. He wears jeans because it's cool even though it would be seven years outdated".

"He wears a ruffled kurta with a sweater on top for comfort. I consciously did not want Ramji's dressing to be over the top. Though he comes from a rural backdrop, there is a sense of dignity in Ramji."
