Actors Shabana Azmi, Tom Alter and Danny Denzongpa have been made members of the reconstituted Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) society.
According to a press statement issued Thursday, U.R. Ananthamurthy has been re-nominated chairman of the society, which imparts training in various aspects of
filmmaking.
Film and theatre personalities Mike Pandey, Bobby Bedi, Jabbar Patel, Nafisa Ali and Aruna Vasudev were appointed members in the category of "Persons of eminence
connected with films and TV, education, journalism, literature, fine arts, dramatists and performing arts, etc."
Filmmaker Ketan Mehta and actors Shabana Azmi, Alter and Denzongpa were nominated in the category of FTII alumni.
Information and broadcasting ministry officials and directors of the National School of Drama, National Film Development Corporation, Indian Institute of Mass
Communication and FTII will be ex-officio members.
Foreign ministry spokesperson Navtej Sarna is among officials nominated in the category of experts representing the activities of the central government.
The term of the reconstituted body is for three years.
