The maker of blockbuster films like Taal, Pardes, and Kalicharan, Ghai has been invited to be part of the jury panel judging the 'TV movie/mini-series' category.
The annual international Emmy Awards will be presented at a glittering ceremony in New York City on November 21, a release said.
"It is an honour to be part of these prestigious awards and especially to be on the panel of judges," Ghai said.
"The Emmys have been considered the equivalent of Oscars for the television industry and have been honouring technicians of the small screen who have excelled in respective fields," he added.
The international academy of television arts and sciences was founded in 1969 to promote excellence in international television programming and presents the international Emmy Awards to the best television programmes produced and initially aired outside the US.
There are nine programme categories for the international Emmy Awards this year including breaking news, children and young people, comedy and continuing news coverage as also TV movies.
