And it seems to have brought in a bit of turbulence as well. The first restructuring happened last year when Ronnie Screwvala moved out, and Siddharth Roy Kapur was elevated to the position of Managing Director from January 1, reports Times of India.
Recently, at least two senior employees put in their papers, with several others following their lead. The sudden exit of the old hands, especially at a time when the banner has quite few films lined up, has triggered speculation whether there has been resentment brewing over the restructuring under the new line of command.
Those who put in their papers, have moved to rival banners, with the organisation allegedly not making any efforts to hold them back. A spokesperson from the company's corporate communication team maintains that the exits were along expected lines, as 'any employee who has been in an organisation for a significant period of time, would like to move on'.
The spokesperson also says that the 'exodus' could perhaps be attributed to the fact that some of these senior employees are taking their team members with them. However, sources close to the development tell this diarist that while discontent over Kapur's new strategies may have been one of the reasons, the decision to elevate certain junior members out of turn, may have been the immediate trigger.
All of this of course, has been denied by the organisation.
