Her elimination was announced Sunday.
"I do wish I had survived my elimination stunt and continued to be a part of the thrill and adventure that the show brings. But be it my fear of creepy crawlies or water, I can happily say that I have overcome them all to a great extent," Pooja said in a statement.
Perceived by many as a shy person, the "Kitani Mohabbat Hai" and "Mann Kee Awaaz Pratigya" actress displayed her daring side when she went into a tank filled with snakes for the show.
In the elimination round, she found herself in troubled waters as she attempted to pull out dangerous cayman and catfish from deep water tanks. Unfortunately, she failed at completing the task and became the first victim of elimination.
However, she is happy about the journey on the show.
"The experience was truly fabulous. Being a part of 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' was always going to be a challenge and I am quite proud of myself for achieving what I have," she added.
During the course of the show, hosted by filmmaker Rohit Shetty, Pooja found a close friend and confidante in fellow contestant Rochelle Maria Rao with whom she would spend much of her free time.
The new found friends even shed a tear upon learning about Pooja's exit, but parted ways with the promise to stay in touch.
