Ready to appear as a sports commentator, MTV's celebrity VJ Cyrus Broacha is wondering how much freedom he would be given to play his game on a turf that is not his own.

For those who believe that Cyrus can be game for comedy only, it may come as a surprise. Already into a contract with TEN Sports for sports commentary, Cyrus wants to do some serious work that is devoid of noodle-strap and lip-gloss.

"I have signed a contract with TEN Sports for some sports programmes and I have got the clearance from MTV also. The work will begin in October with a series of talk shows. But, I have some apprehensions about what kind of an approach I will be asked to take," Cyrus told Saturday evening at the Maurya Sheraton Hotel on a visit here for the Lycra MTV Style Award.

"Commentary in cricket has changed a lot. But the game should never be sacrificed for lack of glamour and some nonsense comedy. When these things come into the scene, things become little difficult for purists like me. I hope I am not asked to do all funny stuff in the name of commentary."

Though comedy is his style, Cyrus says he is good at commentary too. And for him both are two different things that are better not mixed.

"I have great interest in cricket commentary right from my childhood. People usually tend to forget that I can do things other than comedy. Once Tony Greg was trying to bully me with some tough questions on cricket. He immediately got to know how much I know and we have been good friends ever since," says Cyrus.

While a number of VJs have moved on to appear on the big screen, India's most funny VJ says he has never been serious about acting in films.

"I don't say that I will never do films. But I am not at all serious about that. I am extremely complacent and lazy. I am okay where I am. MTV has given me everything and I would stick to it unless it kicks me out," he says.

"Actually I am like a prostitute. I keep thinking how to get more money for less work. I am getting money without working hard. So, why should I bother about other things?" laughs Cyrus.

Currently touring the major metros to host the Lycra MTV Style Award parties, Cyrus says he is enjoying the event.

"Lycra Style Award is not about fashion, it is about style. It recognizes styles that are unique and different and I am thoroughly enjoying the events," he says.
