John owes his confidence to movie's director Priyadarshan and said that the movie, which is slated for November 3 release, is going to be a complete family entertainer.
"I am not over confident but confident. It's a great movie. It's a clean movie and everybody from the age of six to 80 is going to love it. It's a Priyadarshan movie at the end of the day. It is a very entertaining movie," said John in an interview.
John said that his way to success was not as easy as people thought, because there was a common perception that models can't act and he had to prove himself.
"I think modelling helped me in getting into the film industry. But after that modelling was kind of no help because every body thought male models cannot act. And most male models do not act. So it was a big uphill task to really prove a point. But, I do not want to prove myself to everybody. I am just enjoying my acting. I am happy with the work I am doing now," he said.
When asked about taking risk while signing films, John said, "I will keep experimenting. You see I have done some ten movies and eight out of the ten directors are new directors. And a lot of people tell me John you are in a position where you can consolidate your position by choosing only the biggest directors. Then I say that's not what I want to do. There's a management saying ‘higher the risk, greater is the profit'. I guess it's all about taking the risk, choosing some one you believe in."
When asked about his dream role, John said that he had no dream role, but if one goes by a movies' success ratio, then it's his role in ‘Dhoom', though his personal favourite is ‘Jism'.
Once an admired model, John forayed into Bollywood and did films like ‘Jism', ‘Aitbaar', ‘Virudh', ‘Dhoom', ‘Elaan', ‘Karam' and ‘Kaal'.
John is also working in two other movies - ‘Zinda' to be released this December and ‘Babul', where he stars alongside Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan, at the beginning of the next year.
