Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan was awarded "The Diamond of India Award" to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the International Gemological Institute Worldwide (IGI) at a glittering function held at the Taj Land's End in Bandra on Tuesday evening.

Speaking on the occasion Bachchan, said, "To compare me with the precious stones is really an honour for me. But honestly speaking I don't know how I was selected for this prestigious award".
