Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan was on Monday admitted to the Escorts hospital in New Delhi with a severe stomachache.

Bachchan, who was in Lucknow on Sunday, was admitted to the Escorts Heart Institute and Research Centre at around 6 am, hospital authorities said.

Though hospital authorities refused to divulge any details beyond saying that he was fine, Samajwadi Party leader and close friend Amar Singh told a news channel that his condition was absolutely stable.

"He was admitted to the hospital as he had a lot of stomach pain. But all tests reports are normal and there is nothing to be worried about."
