The makers of Akshay Kumar's 'Shaukeen' remake have recently announced that their film will release on November 7. Interestingly, Prabhu Dheva's film, 'Action Jackson' starring Ajay Devgn, will also release on same day.
Akshay Kumar's 'Shaukeen' is being directed by Abhishek Sharma and the release of 'Action Jackson', starring Ajay Devgn, has already been pushed ahead once A source says, "Prabhu's film is almost complete and he is working on its post-production. Initially, the film was supposed to release on June 6, on the same day as Akshay Kumar's 'Holiday'. But since Prabhu and the production house didn't want their film to clash with another big film, they chose to push ahead its release date. Now once again they are caught in the same situation."
It is being said that Ajay too was not keen to have back-to-back action releases. "His film, 'Singham Returns', will release on August 15, so he requested the makers of 'Action Jackson' to change its release date. Both these films are different from each other but if they release on the same day, they will end up eating into each other's business," says a source.
Trade analyst Komal Nahta says, "Yes, these films are going to clash and these things are going to happen because there are so many films and very few dates available. Therefore, it is impossible to have a solo release especially in the holiday season. Also, I think one of them might shift their dates again." Action Jackson's producer, Gordhan Tanwani, and Abhishek Sharma¸ director of the 'Shaukeen' remake, remained unavailable for comment.
