A Samajwadi party member on Thursday charged that Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan was
denied invitation to the International Film Festival in Goa because of his association with his party
led by Mulayam Singh Yadav.
Raising the issue during zero hour, SP member Udai Pratap Singh said that the festival authorities
had first issued the invitation and then withdrawn it apparently because of his association with the
Samajwadi Party.
"Such attempts to politicise the event needed to be condemned," he said adding that such
humiliation to the film star was "not warranted and this had aggravated his illness."
Bachchan is currently undergoing treatment in a Mumbai hospital.
