The still stunning Rekha lit up a rather desultory morning when she turned up at the INOX multiplex
on Thursday to pay homage to her father Gemini Ganesan, whose film "Parthibaan Kanavu" was
screened on the occasion. More eyes were understandably on Rekha than on the screen.
The veteran actress is busy these days with the shooting of Goutam Ghosh's Hindi-language film
"Yatra". A break in the Hyderabad shoot allowed her to make the trip to Goa at a short notice.
Another Mumbai film personality who has turned up here without much coaxing is the now virtually
forgotten Kumar Gaurav. He could not have turned down the invitation of the IFFI organisers because
he is here for his late father-in-law Sunil Dutt.
The Friday morning proceedings kicked off with one of Dutt saab's finest films, "Mujhe Jeene Do".
Gaurav paid a heartfelt tribute to the actor-producer-director-politician-central minister.
There were a few moist eyes in the auditorium as the lights dimmed for the film to unspool.
