Taj Mahal — An Eternal Love Story has been the surprise package of this year. Director Akbar Khan
could not have asked for anything better, now that the film is all set to be released in
Pakistan.
"The film will also release in Bangladesh. Dignitaries from Pakistan and
Bangladesh called me asking if they could see my film. And I am more than glad to make
arrangements for people to watch my film."
Taj Mahal — An Eternal Love Story will be the
first film of its kind to release in Pakistan. Pakistanis have otherwise banned the release of Hindi
films in their country.
"I am glad that my film is going to enjoy that honour. The film has received a very positive response
here. In fact, those who have seen it have told me that it was history revisited. Even other filmmakers
had positive things to say about my film"
"Some told me that the battle scenes were
fabulously shot while others maintained that the film had the opulence and the grandeur the audience
expected to see in a historical film."
Akbar Khan soon plans to launch Taxi Driver. "It is not based on the Hollywood hit Taxi Driver. It is a
romantic film. I also plan to launch another film which will be made by another director whom I hope
to sign soon."
