"I play this Vancouver-based professional tennis player and a lawyer whom Uday Chopra takes a fancy too," says the lovely Delhi-based model.
The most interesting side to pretty Priya's debut is to be found in this Friday's other release Apoorva Lakhia's Ek Ajnabee.
Sikh New York hotelier Vikram Chatwal(earlier seen in Vijay Singh's One Dollar Curry and soon to be seen in Tanuja Chandra's Hope & A Little Sugar) who plays Perizad Zorabian's husband in Lakhia's Ek Ajnabee is Priya's fiancée. The two are to be married in two months.
How does it feel to be making her debut alongside her fiancé, and to be entering Bollywood as a bride-to-be?
"Vikram and I making our Bollywood debut on the same Friday is just a pleasant coincidence. As for being engaged, I don't think that's a problem in Bollywood...not anymore. There're so many actresses who are candid about their boyfriends, so why not a fiancé? I don't think my marriage would effect my career in films in any way.In fact it makes me more secure and therefore more work-effective."
Priya is dead-sure about pursuing her Bollywood dream. "I took on Neal & Nikkie because I was told banners don't get any posher than Yashraj Films and because Arjun Sablok is a director with a terrific eye for grace and beauty."
"He said he wanted a girl who suited both a sari and a dress. And I guess I fitted the bill. Though mine is just a cameo in Neal 'N' Nikkie I'm happy with the way my role looks in the overall picture."
There's double excitement in Priya's life. "A career in films and marriage...I'm stepping into two different and important milestones in my life, almost at the same time. Of course I'm nervous and excited. But I'm confident about both the moves."
