Karisma Kapoor denied that she was to ever attend Nana Chudasama's Giants award function and get the best actress award. The news was all over Mumbai newspapers quoting Mumbai's socialite Chudasama that Karisma had ditched him.

"I was in Jaisalmer throughout," says the pretty Kapoor. "I have been shooting continuously in Jaisalmer for Boney Kapoor's film Shakti. I was just here for two days in Mumbai. It was during these two days that there was a call from Chudasama's office and my secretary spoke to them. But there was no confirmation at all. I was never told to attend the function. They are senior people and I cannot say no to them. I would have come for the awards ceremony had someone spoken to me and if I had been called for it. It was only when my father called me up in Jaisalmer after reading the newspapers and told me as to why I had not attended the function, that I came to know about all this.
