'Whenever I saw colleges in Bollywood films, they had big campus, luxurious hostel, glamorous clothes, tons of girls in miniskirts and superbikes. I wanted to make a movie which can bring back those wonderful memories of college days stored in heart of audiences.

So I decided to boycott everything that doesn't match the typical colleges of India where middle class students study. In lastbenchers you will see dirty college walls, unhygienic hostel, one bike and four room-mates on seat trying to reach class in time. No, rarely we see lots of girls in colleges. In fact most of them are absent or bunk classes so in lastbenchers you will see empty campus. No one is playing guitar or playing basketball whole day.

Even the canteen is not posh and the rates of items are written on a black board with chalk. No, lead actors don't change clothes regularly for one song. How can they? They don't even have enough money to party in pub. If they contri just for one beer and one plate chicken biryani, i don't see any sense in actors changing clothes just because of new scene.

No, in this movie you will not see hot girls cheerleading actor because he is dancing in front. Yaar, ekka dukka maal ladki toh hoti hai real college mein

No, there is no fighting with seniors or any villains. Why? In real life rarely one junior challenges all seniors. But yes, our characters are heroes so senior are bas hull dete hai aur juniors bhi. Honestly, if audience wants to watch a movie where they want to see beaches with bikini girls, then they should avoid lastbenchers. Only those who want to see their college even though it had broken windows and lab where any outsider can enter, they must watch lastbenchers.'

Many ask me "Lastbenchers movie mein kya hai"

Is movie mein naye chehre hai par jaise tujhe mile, waise hi purane tane hai, Jaise first year mein har chehre anjane hai, aur last year tak har koi bas ek ke deewane hai.

Jaise dil tut jaye aur daru ke paise nahi bas nimbu pani hai, Jaise tano aur khushi ke do palo mein bit rahi teri jawani hai, Ab aur kya is movie ke barein mein batau mere yaar, Jaisi teri jhand zindagi waise hi hum Lastbenchers ki kahani hai."
