Rani Mukerji's latest release 'Mardaani' has become the first film to become tax free despite its adult certificate

After Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, Rani Mukerji's film, Mardaani, has now become tax free in Maharashtra. Says a source, `On Wednesday night, Maharashtra CM Prithviraj Chavan watched the film at Famous Studios along with officials from the Ministry of Women & Child Development.

He liked the film's message and he felt that this film needed to get a wider reach; this is how Mardaani has won the distinction of being the first film to become tax free despite getting an A certificate.`

A spokesperson of the film says, `We are very grateful to the Chief Ministers of MP, UP and Maharashtra for extending their support to our film. We hope others see it in the same way and the film gets a similar tax free status elsewhere as well.`
