Bollywood actor Hemant Birje was arrested by Mumbai police this morning for allegedly molesting a girl at Oshiwara in suburban Andheri, police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Amitabha Gupta today said that an aspiring model had lodged a complaint of molestation against former film actor Hemant Birje yesterday. After registration of the First Information Report (FIR), he was arrested.

He will be produced in the Metropolitan Court at Andheri this afternoon for remand, Mr Gupta added.

The complainant was sitting inside her car parked at some place in Oshiwara on Monday evening when Birje is alleged to have made a pass at her and later allegedly molested her, police added.
