RK Laxman came to know that the Team of Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami paid an ode to R. K. Laxman's Common Man Statue. He was keen to meet the entire team. On 9th September the film team felicitated the years old statue to signify the reverence of the film with the Common Man.

The very well known Indian Cartoon, The Common Man has represented the hopes, aspirations, troubles and perhaps even foibles of the average Indian, through a daily comic strip since years together.

Ekkees Toppon Ki Salaami which is a story of a common man, the team wants to celebrate the spirit of a common man. When the veteran cartoonist came to know about it, he asked his daughter to call the Anupam Kher the very next day to arrange for a meeting.

The cartoonist was delighted that someone honored one of his best cartoons and saluted the spirit it had.
