The sessions court here today granted anticipatory bail to the video jockey and former reality show contestant Siddharth Bhardwaj who is facing a criminal case for alleged molestation.

"The court granted pre-arrest bail to Bhardwaj," public prosecutor Nilima Kasture said.

Suburban Oshiwara police had last month registered a case under sections 354 (outraging woman's modesty), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 506 (criminal intimidation) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace) of the Indian Penal Code against Bhardwaj.

According to the police, Bhardwaj had an altercation with the complainant girl after her car bumped into the rear-side of his car. In the course of altercation, he allegedly abused and assaulted her.

Judge Vrushali Joshi granted pre-arrest bail to Bhardwaj observing that his custodial interrogation was not necessary.
