Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi Sunday said the Congress did not need the star power of Hema Malini or Dharmendra like the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
"The BJP thinks that by having Hema Malini in their party they were able to make India shine. We do not want any Hema Malini. Instead we want our sisters and daughters
in the rural areas of Assam to be our Hema Malinis," he said.
Gogoi was addressing a massive public rally in Assam's main city Guwahati to mark the start of the Congress election campaign. Assembly polls in the state are scheduled
for April.
