Aishwarya Rai has has reportedly turned down an offer to endorse mineral water product called Ganga to be marketed in America saying that it would hurt the sentiments of her fans in India.

According to sources, the name Ganga could become a sensitive issue back home where the river is revered by Hindus. The endorsement was meant to be in America only.

"It is not a matter of money, I have a responsibility towards my fans," she said.

Aishwarya's majority of endorsements include beauty products.
