Policemen pulled curtains down on a TV awards show, but the function secretly continued

A television awards function on Saturday night was disrupted when some unexpected guests turned up at the venue. Sources say a group of policemen descended on the Andheri Sports Complex and stopped the show for playing loud music.

The programme started at around 8pm and went on till late, says a source, adding, "The show was mismanaged and the sound system went blank several times. Then the police landed and stopped the show. After waiting for nearly an hour, the audience started to leave. Celebrities, who were supposed to hand over the awards, also waited by the stage indefinitely.

With such glitches, most stars gave the after-party a miss. But after the cops left, the show went on for televising purposes and several acts were re-shot."

Another source, who was part of the audience, adds, "The cops arrived at around 10pm and stopped the show citing violation of sound limit norms.

None from the organisers' side said anything so we thought the show had ended and left the venue. We then learnt more than half of the show was shot without any audience." The channel spokesperson did not reply to our messages.
