Director Karan Razdan said he is lucky enough to finally release Souten, "Mahima has always been troubling the producers and directors. It is nothing new and the media is aware of it. Mahima started throwing a fit after her dialogues were completed. She gave more preference to Home Delivery and hence started throwing tantrums during dubbing."
Meanwhile Mahima has claimed that the director intentionally putted suspect camera angles to make her look vulgar. The actress is using this as an excuse for refusing to take part in any promotional activity for the film.
Razdan has rejected her allegations, "In every scene, Mahima wanted to wear plunging necklines. In fact, I told her to tone down her make-up, but she insisted on keeping it on. Now suddenly she's saying the promo song makes her look vulgar."
Razdan in turn is annoyed with her. "If she thought it was indecent, why did she agree to do the song? The film doesn't have a single kissing or love making scene, though the subject is controversial." Mahima herself was unavailable for comment.
Souten stars Mahima Chaudhry, Gulshan Grover, Padmini Kolhapure, newcomers Kiran Rathore and Vikram Singh in lead roles. It has music by the magical duo Anand Milind.
Director Karan is aiming for a February 24th release and expects the film to do well especially due to its storyline. Padmini Kolhapure plays a restraining influence on her step-daughter Mahima Chaudhry, as she is having an affair with Mahima boyfriend Vikran Singh. Gulshan Grover is cast as a good man who comes to a killing rage, when hear of his wife's affair with his daughter's lover.
