Pulkit Samrat who was in Ahmedabad recently to promote his upcoming film Dolly Ki Doli, sits totally at ease, sipping coffee at a corner table.

As Ahmedabad edition of the Times of India caught up with the young actor for an interview, he shared that he vividly remembered his last visit to Ahmedabad during the promotion of his debut filmFukrey. And even though life has come a long way for the actor since then (with Pulkit getting married recently), he maintained that nothing much has changed for him as a person. Excerpts from a chat:

So how have things changed since your first film?
Not much you know. When you are new, then of course there are very few expectations from you. But once people have seen your work, then there are more expectations and you have to be aware of what people look for in you. But it is good in a sense, because it drives you as a professional to do better than you have in the past.

While your first film got appreciated, your second film didn't do that well. Did that affect you as an actor?
It is all a part of the profession. While your films do well you are successful. When your films don't work at the BO then you face different challenges. You get to learn something from every situation. While success teaches you to be humble and grounded, failure teaches you to be strong and keep striving to get better. It all depends on you as to how you take things.

You think it is easier to take risks when you are more settled as an actor?
You always have to take risks. And there is no right time for doing something. It's not that you can take risk when you are successful as it will make more sense.

You recently got married. How much has life changed since then?
Life hasn't changed at all since then. I have only been working since the time I got married. I have been away for back to back shooting schedules, so I haven't really had time to experience that married life that you are talking about. And I don't even think it will change too much because we had been dating for a long time before we got married and so there was never a 'bachelor' kind of life that I was leading which will go missing now.

What role does Salman Khan play in your life?
Salman Khan has played a very important role in my life - be it personal or professional. You know when you have someone like him you look up to, then you always try to not let them down. I can never do anything to let him down, be it in my personal life or my career.
