'Umrika' wins Audience Award at 2015 Sundance Film Festival

Independent filmmaker Prashant Nair's 'Umrika' has bagged the prestigious audience award in the World Cinema Dramatic Competition section of the 2015 Sundance Film Festival in the US.

The film is about a young village boy who discovers that his brother, believed to be in the US, is actually missing. He begins to write letters on his behalf so that their mother does not lose hope, while frantically searching for him. The film is produced by Manish Mundra (Ankhon Dekhi) and Swati Shetty.

It stars Tony Revolori ('The Grand Budapest Hotel'), Suraj Sharma, Adil Hussain and Prateik.
