Looks like the versatile and intensely good looking actor Kunal Kapoor has enough reason to celebrate this year. After completing the shoot for Madhav Panda's Ooncha Gaon Neecha Goan, he is all set to start work on Abhinay Deo's next : a dark quirky comedy produced by Rakesh Roshan co-starring Irrfan Khan and Aditi Rao Hydari as parallel leads.

Like most casting coups, this too comes with a back story. Initially, it is believed that the role was offered to Hrithik Roshan by director Abhinay. After having directed quite a few of Hrithik's ad films, they have been planning a movie together for some time now. But due to the issue of dates, Hrithik was forced to bow put of this one as he has blocked a large chunk of his time for Ashutosh Gowarikar's Mohenjodaro that is being shot in Gujarat currently.


Thus, came in Kunal Kapoor, as it is a character that fits both his physical dexterity as well his edginess as a performer. A source said, "Hrithik was very happy when he got to know about Kunal as both of them have been friends since childhood".
